أثارت قرارات رفع أسعار البنزين والسولار، موجة من الغضب بين مختلف قطاعات الشعب، خصوصاً بعد أن رفع سائقو سيارات الأجرة في القاهرة والجيزة، سعر تعريفة الركوب بطريقة غير رسمية بنسب تراوحت بين ٢٥ و٣٥% علي مختلف خطوط السير الداخلية وبين المحافظات، وهو ما أدي إلي وقوع العديد من الاشتباكات بينهم وبين الركاب.​

وكانت وزارة الداخلية قد شددت من حملاتها أمس علي المواقف لضبط السائقين المخالفين، وهو ما جعل المئات منهم يضربون عن العمل، مطالبين بزيادة تعريفة الركوب بنسبة مناسبة لزيادة أسعار البنزين والسولار.​

ولم تقتصر المشاجرات علي الركاب والسائقين، بل شهدت محطات البنزين اشتباكات أيضاً بين السائقين وأصحاب المحطات، بسبب زيادة الأسعار، واضطرت وزارة الداخلية لوضع جنديين أمام كل محطة،​

خصوصاً في الطرق المؤدية للأقاليم تحسباً لوقوع أعمال شغب، كما امتنعت بعض محطات البنزين في وسط القاهرة عن تقديم الخدمة صباحاً حتي تأكدت من البيع بالأسعار الجديدة.​

Nepal fuel strike shuts down capital
KATMANDU, Nepal (AP) -- A general strike to protest an increase in fuel prices shut down the Nepalese capital on Thursday, with schools, businesses and markets closed and streets empty of vehicles.

Government workers had to walk to their offices.

Four small political parties called the strike to demand the government immediately withdraw fuel price increases, which went into effect June 10.

Party supporters set up road blocks in several points in Katmandu and vandalized some buses that defied their strike call.

Nepal Oil Corp., a state-owned company with a monopoly on importing and distributing oil, said the price rise was necessary to reduce its losses and increase supplies.

Hundreds of trucks bring London to a standstill AGAIN as fuel protests hit the capital

Hundreds of lorry drivers protested to Parliament over rising fuel prices yesterday.

They turned the A40 into a car park as more than 230 vehicles from across the country lined up, causing a tailback of more than two miles.

From there the drivers took their complaints to the politicians whom they claim are the only people who can save their industry.

Japanese fisherman to strike over fuel prices
Wednesday June 25, 2008

Japan's fishing industry will grind to a halt next month after the country's fishing associations today agreed to hold a one-day strike to protest at rising fuel prices which they say are threatening to put thousands of members out of business.

The nationwide strike threatens to affect supplies to restaurants and prompt a sharp increase in seafood prices.

The National Federation of Cooperative Fisheries Associations said all 230,000 of its members would take part in the day of action on July 15.

Thai government meets truckers to avert fuel strike

BANGKOK: A major Thai truckers group that is threatening to blockade the capital this week is due to meet energy and transport officials on Monday over its demands for government help against rising fuel prices.

Thongyu Khongkan, head of the Land Transport Federation of Thailand, which has 400,000 trucks under its banner, said he hoped the meeting would yield "positive results", but said he was not yet backing off his call for action on the streets.

What is the responce in other areas of our country. My experience has been mixed between those trying to build gas saving devices. People that believe life as we known it is obout to change and those who believe this will below over? In my area this is deverting resources away from any attempt to prepare for future disasters.

تصاعدت أمس أزمة نقص ?بنزين ٨٠? في القاهرة والجيزة، وازدحمت محطات بنزين التعاون ومصر للبترول بعشرات السيارات الملاكي والأجرة في طوابير امتدت حتي ساعة مبكرة من الصباح.​
