Avian influenza: 43 municipalities of Gers in areas at risk of spread

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food published two decrees on Thursday, September 30, concerning highly pathogenic avian influenza. One of them defines areas at risk of dissemination: 539 municipalities, including 43 Gers, from 9 departments are concerned.

New measures. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food published two decrees on Thursday, September 30, which set out the rules to make farms less vulnerable to highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).

The first defines Diffusion Risk Zones (ZRD), in which enhanced prevention and biosecurity measures apply depending on the level of risk. Since September 10, this level has been raised to 'moderate' throughout the territory of mainland France. 539 municipalities from 9 departments, including the Gers, are included in these ZRDs.
