H1N1 influenza: a death in Marseille
A girl of 17 years carrying the flu virus H1N1 died Friday in a Marseilles hospital as she suffered from other diseases, it was learned from the Prefecture of the Bouches-du-Rhone.
The girl, residing in the Alpes-Maritimes and treated for 10 days in the Archet Hospital in Nice, was transferred Thursday night in emergency Marseille, according to medical sources.
Nice hospitalized for problems of diabetes and obesity, the girl had undergone surgery by the same source said the patient had contracted the flu virus during her hospital stay.
Admitted to intensive care unit of the Timone in Marseille on Thursday night, she died Friday, said the prefecture of Bouches-du-Rhone.
