A 41 year old male who suffered from influenza H1N1 died Thursday night in the medical intensive care unit of Bichat Hospital in Paris, said Friday evening the AP-HP (Hospitals of Paris)? in a statement.

This man had been transplanted lung and liver in 1997 and was hospitalized in Bichat since October 16, says the AP-HP.

The Institute for Public Health said Wednesday in its weekly review the circulation of influenza virus continued to increase in all regions, but especially in the Ile-de-France, where there were 607 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The epidemic threshold is 128 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

According to figures arrested last week, 22 deaths were attributed to the H1N1 virus on the mainland since the epidemic began, including 18 confirmed.
