Four more die of Swine flu



Four more persons died from AH1N1 flu yesterday from Kurunegala, Ratnapura and Matale districts, health sources said yesterday.
Accordingly, two males age 35 and 37, have died from the flu in the Kurunegala district, bringing the total death toll to three in the district alone from AH1N1 flue during past few weeks.

Currently, there were more than fifty patients receiving treatment at the Kurunegala hospital and eighteen of them had been affected with the flu.

A spokesman for the hospital said that the number of AH1N1 patients were increasing day by day and the hospital is being overcrowded due to the situation.

Meanwhile, in Matale, a 34-year-old person had died from the flu.

In another development, a ten-year-old girl had died from AH1N1 flu.
Initially the hospital authorities were unable to find out the cause of death of the girl. However, after investigation it was revealed that it was due to AH1N1 flu.
