Five people in the province were infected with H5N6 within two months, and three of them died

The Sichuan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention published a paper last Friday (3rd), stating that 5 cases of human avian influenza (H5N6) infection have been recorded in the local area from May to July this year, accounting for half of the number of infections in the country this year. The paper pointed out that the 5 patients were all from eastern Sichuan Province, and 3 of them died; however, there is no evidence that H5N6 can spread from person to person.
The paper was published in the "Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention Weekly" and listed 5 cases, 2 of which were from Dazhou City, 1 case each from Chengdu City, Bazhong City and Yibin City. All 5 patients had contact with live poultry, and 4 of them were suspected of having eaten infected poultry. In addition, the H5N6 virus is present in the environmental samples of each person.
However, the study pointed out that the 5 cases are all independent cases and have no epidemiological relevance, indicating that there has been no outbreak of H5N6 avian influenza infection in Sichuan. The paper called on the local government to strengthen the monitoring of wild birds and poultry, timely trace the source of infection, and block the spread of the virus across species.

From our case list are the following cases. I have one documented death but I do not know which other two Sichuan patients since died:

32) Female, 49, onset and hospitalized May 1, serious condition, Chengdu, Sichuan province

33) Male, 55, onset June 30, hospitalized July 4, critical condition, Bazhong, Sichuan province

34) Female, 51, onset June 25, hospitalized July 2, died July 4, Xuanhan, Dazhou, Sichuan province Death

35) Male, 57, onset 22, hospitalized July 5, critical, Kaijiang, Dazhou, Sichuan province

38) Female, 65, onset and hospitalized July 13, critical, Yibin City, Sichuan Province
