The Licking County Health Department is reporting its first confirmed death as a result of the H1N1 virus.
The Ohio Department of Health conducted laboratory testing which confirmed that the 53-year-old man had the virus.
No other details regarding the death have been released.
Licking County Health Commissioner Joe Ebel says the county is continuing its efforts to get residents vaccinated against the H1N1 virus.
The Health Department is offering clinics for high risk groups. To date around 3,000 doses of the vaccine have been dispensed.
