First H1N1 Death in Winnebago County

The Winnebago County health director reports the county's first death from the H1N1 flu virus.

The patient was an adult with other health problems.

Health officials did not reveal any other information about the patient, including their age or gender.

This would be at least the 48th death from the H1N1 virus in 2009.

The Wisconsin Department of Health reported 47 deaths through December 21st, the latest data available. Thirty-eight of those deaths were since the end of August.
