El Salvador, March 22 .- The Ministry of Health announced today that next Wednesday will start the first day of vaccination against influenza A virus H1N1-human to immunize the Salvadoran population more vulnerable.
Health Minister Maria Isabel Rodriguez confirmed that Sunday came to the country's first batch of 130 thousand doses of the vaccine against influenza A-H1N1.
Medication doses were sent by the World Health Organization (WHO) since late last year pledged support to El Salvador to protect people from influenza.
Covers the most vulnerable children, pregnant women, elderly and medical staff of the public health system.
So far this year, the Ministry has reported only a woman with A-H1N1 virus, although last year when the epidemic broke out the country recorded more than 800 infected and little more than a dozen deaths. (Con informaci?n de Notimex / MVC)
