Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Sayed, head of the Poultry Division at the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, announced a meeting of the Division on Tuesday to discuss a number of issues related to the poultry sector, including the implementation of the ban on live birds in Cairo.
The head of the division for the "seventh day" that there are a number of issues to be discussed during the meeting, including poultry prices during the current period as well as the future of prices during the coming months in light of increased consumption during the month of Ramadan, in addition to proposals on increasing the productivity of poultry.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation decided in October 2018 to activate the law (70) for the year (2009) and its executive regulation represented by the decision of the Minister of Agriculture No. 941 for the year 2009 regarding the regulation and sale of live poultry and poultry for sale, However, it is not allowed to transport live birds and poultry of all types except for chicks one day from the farms to any other place, unless accompanied by a permit from the General Authority for Veterinary Services after the examination at the National Veterinary Laboratory for poultry production and proved free from avian influenza.
