أعلن الدكتور عبد الرحمن شاهين المتحدث الرسمى لوزارة الصحة أن جهود فرق ترصد نشاط مرض أنفلونزا الخنازير بالوزارة أسفرت عن اكتشاف عدد (420) حالة مؤكدة لمرض الأنفلونزا AH1N1 خلال الأسبوع الماضي في الفترة من 16/1/2011 حتى يوم 22 /1 /2011, الأمر الذى يدل على وجود انخفاض ملحوظ بنسبة 30% فى أعداد الحالات هذا الأسبوع مقارنة بالأسبوع الماضى. Dr. Abdel Rahman Shahin, official spokesman of the Ministry of Health that the efforts of teams to monitor disease activity of swine flu in the ministry resulted in the discovery of a number (420) confirmed cases of flu AH1N1 during the last week in the period from 01/16/2011 until 22/01/2011, it which indicates the presence of a significant decrease by 30% in the number of cases this week compared to last week.

وأوضح شاهين أن أعداد الوفيات من جراء المرض قد انخفضت هذا الأسبوع بنسبة 24%، وأن معظم الوفيات من الحالات التي لديها عوامل خطورة ( أمراض مزمنة , حمل ) بنسبة 2,74%، وأن أعداد الحالات التى تصاب بالمرض بدأت في الانخفاض المستمر. Shaheen explained that the number of deaths from the disease this week has fallen by 24%, and most of the deaths of the cases that have risk factors (chronic diseases, pregnancy) rate of 2.74%, and the number of cases that get the disease began in steady decline.
