للاستفادة من تجربة وجهود مصر في مواجهة انفلونزا الطيور ونجاحها في السيطرة إلي حد كبير علي المرض زارت أندونيسيا أخيرا لجنة مصرية مشكلة من مسئولي إدارة الدواجن بالهيئة العامة للخدمات البيطرية ومديري مديريات الطب البيطري في المحافظات التي شهدت مواجهات حاسمة وشرسة مع المرض‏,‏ وذلك لعرض تجربة مصر والتعرف علي وسائل وطرق المواجهة هناك‏.‏

وأكد الدكتور حامد سماحة رئيس الهيئة العامة للخدمات البيطرية أن الزيارة جاءت بناء علي دعوة من منظمة الأغذية والزراعة واتفقت مع توجيهات السيد أمين أباظة وزير الزراعة واستصلاح الأراضي بضرورة الاطلاع علي تجارب الدول الأخري في مواجهة المرض واطلاعهم علي الجهود المبذولة في مصر لمحاصرة المرض والسيطرة عليه‏.‏

وقال‏:‏ إن الزيارة التي امتدت اسبوعين عكف خلالها أعضاء اللجنة علي دراسة معوقات مكافحة المرض في إندونيسيا والتي تمثلت في ضخامة عدد قراها والتي تبلغ نحو‏60‏ ألف قرية ذات حكم ذاتي ومفوضة في اتخاذ الإجراءات دون الرجوع للسلطة الأعلي وافتقاد التربية المنزلية والقطاع التجاري إجراءات الأمان الحيوي وعدم وجود سياسة تعويض وفي حالة حدوث حالات إيجابية في الطيور لا يتم الإعدام والتخلص الصحي من الطيور إلا إذا طلب ذلك المربي حيث لا توجد سياسة إجبارية في هذه الحالة وهو ما يعكس أسباب الإشادة الدولية بالخطوات التي جرت في مصر لمواجهة المرض وتتسق مع إجراءات منظمة الصحة العالمية من توعية المواطنين بالمرض وخطورته وتعويض المضارين واتخاذ الإجراءات الوقائية اللازمة للتخلص من الدواجن المصابة‏,‏ وهو ما تسعي لتحقيقه إندونيسيا خاصة بعدما كشفت أحدث تقاريرها للعام الحالي عن الأزمة وجود‏5‏ آلاف إصابة برغم مرور‏5‏ سنوات علي إصابة قراها بإنفلونزا الطيور‏.‏

I do not know an Indonesian report "unveiling 5 thousand injured" .

The latest reports from Dep of Health on the current situation regarding avian flu can be read in this thread:

This reports seems to suggest a better compensation scheme in Indonesia could be helpfull, I fully agree with that.

Thanks Dutchy - To my knowledge 5000 injured does not match any information that I have seen. Total poultry losses have been MUCH larger and reported human cases have been much smaller.
