They are claiming a huge financial loss due to something they are calling "infectious bronchitis" which is a catch all name for respiratory problems. I wonder if it is really bird flu H5N1. This is a historical pattern in Egypt. They have lost their poultry industry a couple of times in the last 6 years due to bird flu. This article also says this "infectious bronchitis" has mutated. If this is bird flu then this is not news either. They have experienced several vaccine failures over the years when the H5N1 virus in poultry had drifted.
I have asked some people in Egypt to help understand what is going on regarding this issue.
