The Health Minister David Chiriboga, reported that 95 percent of the population of the three communities has received seven first dose of rabies, a total of ten.
The first victim was a girl of five years, Tsurik community, while on Tuesday, November 8 air ambulance moved to a nine year old boy and a girl of eleven to a hospital in Cuenca in the Andean highlands, where died within a few hours, the ministry said in a statement.
One of these children underwent a brain biopsy, with which it was determined that the death was caused by the rabies virus.
