Eastern New Mexico woman and infant die of H1N1

The state of New Mexico reported that four people died this week from the H1N1 virus. A 54-year-old Curry County woman and a Quay County infant are among those four deaths.
The Clovis News Journal reports that the Quay County infant had no other health conditions, but the Curry County woman suffered chronic health conditions.
The deaths mark the first for the two counties. Back in September a Roosevelt County baby girl was the first H1N1 death in the High Plains of Eastern New Mexico.
Clovis/Curry County emergency planning officials announced free H1N1 vaccines would be available during the free clinic on Thursday, December 3. Those vaccines will go to those who fall in the high priority group. These are children ages six months to 5 years, people ages 6-64 with chronic diseases, pregnant women and parents of infants under six months old.
