Two hundred children died of anemia on the six hundred cases recorded in three months, Ikela territory in the district of Tshuapa (Ecuador). According to the diocesan Caritas Bokungu-Ikela victims all have the same signs as follows: weakness with fever and anemia. The Director of the Diocesan Development Office Bokungu-Ikela Roger Enyeka, said the worsening of deaths is due to lack of drugs in health facilities instead.
He noted that more than 40 children were transferred last Friday to the General Referral Hospital area adjacent to Lomela Kasai Oriental for proper care health.
