SANTO DOMINGO. - At least 16 people have died, and 171 suspected leptospirosis have been reported in that year, according to the epidemiological report of Public Health.

The situation is critical in the provinces Santiago, Duarte, Barahona, Espaillat, Puerto Plata, Hermanas Mirabal and the National District.
