Re: discussion,ideas,management of the ILI-links

charts from .pdf documents are difficult.

we could link to the whole .pdf, but it would be better to link to
the chart directly.

open the .pdf,
scroll down to the chart,
hit crtl-PrtSc
open paitbrush or Irfanview or ...
hit crtl-v
relocate, edit, resize the picture so it fits well
save it as .png or .jpg or .gif
upload it to your album here or to this thread or to some webpage...
view it there
right-click it
copy and paste the displayed URL of the picture
and post it here

Re: discussion,ideas,management of the ILI-links

I posted some ILI charts for Alaska in your ILI-area. What do you think?

I can change them depending on the comments about content, format, etc.

It would be nice to have all the most recent data avilable for each area at the top of the thread - outdated posts could be moved to a "historical" area.

.

Re: discussion,ideas,management of the ILI-links

I thought we just replace older versions by newer ones.
Archiving old links would be good, if it's easy.

editing the charts and reloading is fine IMO, ut it's additional work

when we have several charts with several formats and slightly different data
from one region, then we must decide which one to take
or take both ? we don't want to have too many, do we ?

the button "Pneumonia and ILI charts" from the main page should be renamed
"ILI-charts" and link directly to the post with the links

someone else will have to edit it, when my editing-period has expired
or we will have to put it elsewhere
cooperation with other forums would be suitable

Re: discussion,ideas,management of the ILI-links

Can we have the subforums below this forum, so we don't have to scroll a whole page to get to this one?

Re: discussion,ideas,management of the ILI-links

I see, Jimo is uploading charts now to the different subforums :-)
Presubly that's why these forums had been created - I was wondering
about so many empty forums

That's good, when you are only interested in one special state
but I think it's also useful to have one page with all links,
in case you want to compare several

I'm going to try pulling the charts out of the pdf documents as you suggested and see if I can make that work. Thanks.

Re: discussion,ideas,management of the ILI-links

~1500 sentinel providers in USA who submit the number of
ILI-patients and all patients each week or each day.

Then some health departments draw the charts from it, some even
for subregions, some not, some delayed, some with previous years
some with strains in the chart, some use bars, some lines ...

why can't we just have the data from the providers and then we
can draw all the charts, and make statistical analysis !
Compare with wheather data
with other countries, previous seasons

CDC must have the data, is it secret ?

same for other countries

there could be a webpage with a map, where you click any sentinel provider,
any city or region and you get the chart

Re: discussion,ideas,management of the ILI-links

is there a list of the US-sentinel providers ?

here is it for Germany:

Re: discussion,ideas,management of the ILI-links

I notice that JimO and some others are putting "%ILI" in their posts with graphs. This is a great idea; it makes it really easy to do a search for all the ILI graphs. :tiphat:
