Vancouver father Geoff Berner says he’s sick of waiting for Health Canada to make up its mind on COVID-19vaccines for children under 12.
“They don’t seem to want to protect children at all here,” he said. “So it seems like it’s up to us to protect our kids.”
That’s why he plans to go across the border, to a pharmacy in Washington state, to vaccinate his eight-year-old daughter.
... The vaccine has been approved for children for more than two weeks in the U.S. Although Health Canada received an application from Pfizer for a COVID-19 vaccine for kids aged five-11 on Oct. 18, it still hasn’t made a decision but is expected to do so in the coming weeks.
