Another outbreak of bird flu. In the interior, they have to spend hundreds of geese in the České Budějovice region
Today, 16:27

Another outbreak of bird flu has appeared in the commercial breeding of domestic geese near the village of Byňov near Nové Hrady. It is a subtype of H5N1, which can be potentially dangerous for humans. The State Veterinary Administration (SVS) informed about it.

There were originally 700 geese in commercial breeding at Byňovský rybník. The owner has them there in a free networked enclosure with access to the pond. "The breeder of the regional veterinary administration reported an increased death of geese, almost 70 birds, so the flock was immediately closed to the interior of the farm. The veterinary inspectors carried out an on-site investigation, during which they found that the remaining poultry showed symptoms typical of bird flu, took samples and sent them to the State Veterinary Institute for examination, "said SVS spokesman Petr Vorlíček...

In the breeding near Nové Hrady, the bird flu was confirmed again, and the flock of geese was killed
Today, 11:55

Avian influenza was confirmed in another flock of commercial geese at Kachní rybník near the village of Údolí near Nové Hrady. There were about 600 young geese in the flock, 65 of them have already died. Vets will spend the flock today.

The exams confirmed the H5N1 subtype of bird flu, how certain it is pathogenic and therefore dangerous for humans will be certain next week , according to the spokesman of the State Veterinary Administration Petr Majer .

Goose breeding is operated by Rybářství Nové Hrady. Veterinarians informed about the first confirmed virus in breeding on November 19. Earlier this week, they gradually spent 2,000 birds, geese and ducks there. "The pond (Kachní) is located in the immediate vicinity of the Velebil pond, where bird flu has already been confirmed in the breeding of geese by the same breeder," said Majer.

Since the infection at the Velebil pond was confirmed, the flock from Kachní rybník has been closed in the halls. "Even though it has now closed, there is already a certain incubation period. And younger geese are probably more delicate than older ones, " said František Kouba , director of the South Bohemian Veterinary Administration . Fishing Nové Hrady had 5,000 birds in its farms, the disease was probably brought there by wild birds.

According to Kouba, the young geese were originally intended for the Christmas market, but due to previous slaughter they were to remain in breeding. "There are other halls right next door, there is a hall where there is a parent flock, the whole thing is a genetic reserve, so we are proceeding more gently. Otherwise, the measures would be such that all contact farms would have to be spent at the beginning, " said Kouba.

"They were young geese sorted from those breeding and we calculated that we would replace a flock from it, but unfortunately they are also positive, so it will be killed," said Lubomír Zvonař , director of Rybářství Nové Hrady . Czech geese, according to him, yet the infection was not confirmed. "But we'll see what it will do next, there is sufficient if crawls mouse from hall to hall, or there may be a transfer from any other animal. We can not tell how it will proceed, while the smears negative, " said Zvonař. According to him, the damage caused by the company's bird flu has not yet been quantified.

According to Zvonař, spending in cooperation with veterinarians and the fire brigade will end by lunch. There is a police patrol from Trhové Sviny and also over 20 firefighters from České Budějovice and Trhové Sviny. "Firefighters help with the liquidation of poultry and decontaminate people and all used material and cars with containers leaving from the place," said Vendula Matějů, a spokeswoman for the regional fire brigade .

According to Kouba, the extraordinary veterinary measures already issued, which also provide for protection zones, will not change significantly in connection with the new confirmation of bird flu. "Basically, nothing changes, only the classification, because we include another flock, we had to make a decision to change the measures," Kouba said.
