Montoya said the biggest number of deaths occurred in recent weeks as a result of the cold wave sweeping the region , especially the highlands of the provinces of La Convencion, Canas and Chumbivilcas.

It also called on parents to take their children to health centers for any sign of seriousness as rapid breathing, fever, persistent cough and weakness, in addition to participating in the vaccination campaign against pneumococcus and influenza, to to reduce ARI are common in this time of year .
