Costa Rica vaccination against influenza A (H1N1)

January 20, 2010, 12:09San Jose, Jan. 20 (PL) Ministry of Health of Costa Rica will begin next week vaccination against influenza A (H1N1), today announced the deputy minister of industry, Ana Morice.
The official said the country hopes for tomorrow's arrival of the first 200 thousand doses of the vaccine.
To make the arrival of the cargo sent by the Pan American Health Organization, vaccination would start next week in those with higher risk of disease, she said Morice.
In this vulnerable group are pregnant women, health staff public and private schools that are in contact with patients, and those over six months with asthma, lung diseases, heart disease, hypertension, obesity or diabetes.
At least 50 people have died in this Central American nation because of influenza A (H1N1), and about a thousand 847 persons were infected by new virus.
Morice ruled out a second wave pandemic at the moment, but urged people to keep hygienic preventive measures.
