A review of airconditioning cooling towers in Sydney's Circular Quay area is under way after an outbreak of legionnaire's disease.
Four men in their 50s and 60s have been diagnosed with the disease in the last few days.
All were in the Circular Quay area around New Year's Eve.
The men are now in a stable condition in separate hospitals.
New South Wales Health spokesman Jeremy McAnulty says the department has issued advisories to hospitals and GPs reminding them to be on the look-out for symptoms.
"We're hopeful that the risk is very low of further cases but we're concerned there may be further cases," he said.
"We're working to do what's called active surveillance where we're contacting hospitals and other clinicians to alert them there's been these cases."
