ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. -- The Adams County Sheriff's Office is investigating illegal dumping, after dozens of dead animals were found piled on the side of a rural road.
"We found 35 pigs, total," said Sgt. Terrance O'Neill, a spokesman for the Adam's County Sheriff's Office. "There are a couple of different stages of decomposition, so it looks like at least two separate dumps of dead pigs.
We're not sure what happened to them."

The Health Department and the sheriff's office do not plan to test the animals to determine how they died, O'Neill said.
