The death of a 25 year old man from respiratory complications in the Hospital San Juan de Dios in Cali on Wednesday, went on the alert in the city, since it could be the first victim fatal H1N1 virus in this region of the country.
The case was announced doctor Iv?n Gonz?lez, director of the hospital San Juan de Dios, care centre to which the man was referred from the municipality of Caloto, Cauca Department, on June 2.
'The patient died from respiratory distress box, and your symptoms raise the suspicion that had the influenza A H1N1 virus;' said the doctor.
However the Secretariat of health of the Valley has not yet confirmed that the patient had the disease, since tests that diagnosed him were recently sent to a laboratory in Bogot?.
