The health authorities of the institution went on alert and ready to implement the actions necessary to ensure the health of Colima, with possible outbreaks of influenza H3N2.
This, because in the southeastern states of the country has been an outbreak of influenza H3N2, detected in July in the U.S..
This was announced on state secretary of Health, Agust?n Lara Esqueda, who added that the emergence of influenza-like illness called (ETI) "indicates that the annual seasonal influenza season was ahead by at least six weeks."
Therefore, said that "we have begun epidemiological surveillance for."
He noted that the State Epidemiological Surveillance Unit analyzes the situation of TB in the state, to identify actions to prevent and avoid it.
Under that context, said the agency reviewed the weekly rate of queries arising from the TSI, the age distribution and the epidemic curve of ILI and severe acute respiratory infections (SARI).
Also, the IRA endemic channel state, the number and size of outbreaks of ILI, and the nature and context of the affected population in the outbreaks.
To elaborate, said that last July, the U.S. launched an epidemiological alert for the detection of excess cases of H3N2 influenza TSI.
Also in epidemiological week 15 to 21 August, the National Institute of Epidemiological Diagnosis and Reference (Indre) received a larger number of samples from Tabasco, same as almost all were positive for H3N2.
"In the next two weeks it was found that Tabasco, Campeche and Yucatan had endemic channels with excess cases of respiratory infections, as well as the channel national epidemic", he said.
He added that "in those same weeks, we observed that the positive influenza samples rose to 50%, while that between May and August had been at 10%."
He said that so far, the morbidity associated with this strain of influenza is less than that associated with H1N1 pandemic influenza, so prepare epidemiologically Colima mitigation, prevention and control of TSI.
