Yantai Beihai Hospital conducts emergency drills for sudden death rescue to protect the "golden four minutes" of life through "actual combat"

In order to further enhance the emergency response capabilities of medical staff in dealing with sudden death and optimize the emergency process, the Nursing Department of Yantai Beihai Hospital recently organized the Emergency Department, Neurosurgery Department and other departments to carry out a high-standard "Patient Sudden Death Emergency Plan" scenario simulation exercise. Head nurses and nursing backbones from various departments participated in the exercise. The exercise was centered on "real cases, actual operations, and full-staff collaboration". Through realistic scene restoration and strict process assessment, it demonstrated the hospital's emergency training concept of "training to promote combat and combat to enhance capabilities".
Sudden "ventricular fibrillation" tests teamwork: a race against time
"Doctor Zhao, the patient has ventricular fibrillation!" With the urgent shout of Nurse Chen, a race against death began instantly. The drill simulated a 56-year-old cerebral hemorrhage patient who suddenly suffered ventricular fibrillation during preoperative preparation, with a sudden drop in blood pressure and blood oxygen saturation. The medical team quickly launched the emergency plan: Nurse Chen immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, Nurse Zhang pushed the rescue cart and defibrillator, and Doctor Zhao gave precise instructions: "Defibrillation energy 200J! Epinephrine 1mg IV push!" From judging the condition to completing the first defibrillation, the whole process took only 90 seconds, and the patient eventually recovered his autonomous heart rhythm and his vital signs tended to stabilize.

Technical specifications: The depth of cardiopulmonary resuscitation compression is strictly controlled to more than 5 cm, and the airway must be open during ventilation; the position of the defibrillator electrode pad is accurately between the "right edge of the sternum under the right clavicle" and the "5th-6th intercostal space of the left mid-axillary line", avoiding the monitoring electrode pad.
Humanistic care: After the patient regains consciousness, the nurse will comfort him immediately; family members will be properly guided to a safe area to avoid interfering with the rescue.
Strict record keeping: After the rescue is completed, the nurse will immediately record key information such as changes in vital signs and medication time to ensure "zero omissions" in medical documents.
