Shenzhen Energy Fengda Power conducts emergency drill for natural gas outage to build a defense line through collaborative efforts.
July 27, 2026, 18:18 Shenzhen Energy
To effectively strengthen the energy supply security defense line and improve the emergency response mechanism across upstream and downstream units, Fengda Power Plant recently organized a comprehensive tabletop emergency drill for gas transmission interruption at the natural gas pressure regulating station in conjunction with the Huizhou Operation Area of the National Pipeline Network.
This drill strictly followed the standards of the "Special Emergency Plan for Natural Gas Interruption". It simulated a typical emergency situation where the No. 2 fire alarm valve in the plant area failed to close due to power failure under the full load operation of the unit, causing a gas transmission interruption and the gas turbine to trip due to low natural gas pressure. The drill fully demonstrated the entire emergency response process of "accident warning, graded response, overall dispatch, on-site handling, fault clearing, and power supply restoration".
During the drill, all personnel strictly followed standardized operating procedures, responding swiftly and decisively to orders, ensuring an efficient and seamless emergency response process. Following the drill, management and technical personnel from both sides conducted a debriefing and discussion, engaging in in-depth exchanges on topics such as the operation and maintenance management of natural gas pressure regulating stations, optimization of the interlocking logic between fire alarm valves and safety shut-off valves, precise control of pipeline gas supply flow, and coordinated handling of sudden faults. They also identified key highlights and areas for improvement in the response process.
This joint tabletop exercise effectively enhanced the plant's and grid's collaborative emergency response and supply guarantee capabilities. Moving forward, Fengda Power Plant will use this exercise as a starting point to continuously improve its emergency management system, deepen its collaboration with upstream gas suppliers, and rigorously implement all safety production measures to firmly safeguard energy security and ensure a stable and reliable power supply for the energy supply and high-quality development of Huizhou and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
