Shanghai’s fatalities from Covid-19 have risen to a record 51 deaths amid a 76.4 per cent jump in the number of symptomatic cases.
Symptomatic cases amounted to 2,472 in the previous 24 hours, compared with 1,401 a day earlier, according to data released on Monday. New infections amounted to 19,455, 7.6 per cent fewer than the previous day, bringing the city’s total cases to 506,000.
