China snaps up natural-resource assets in buying spree

China has been taking advantage of stock-market conditions in the past month, buying supplies of oil and other natural resources in Iran, Brazil, Russia, Venezuela, Australia and France. Experts are concerned that the scope of China's investments will affect competition for the commodities while shifting the balance of global finance.
