Pneumoconiosis is any lung disease that is caused by inhaling materials. This usually happens in the workplace so it is a type of lung illness that is considered occupational. Of course, these free lung treatment rehab stations could be used for any type of lung illness.

fyi - China does not have socialized medicine. Like the US people generally need some type of medical insurance. Also like the US there is some basic government supported medical insurance like medicaid. I am not sure of the details but people can be left with devastating costs due to illness.

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, April 25 (Reporters Li Heng and Dong Ruifeng) Relying on township health centers and community health service centers, my country has built 829 pneumoconiosis rehabilitation stations in 28 provinces to provide nearby pneumoconiosis patients with pneumoconiosis rehabilitation stations from 2021 to 2023. , free rehabilitation services for more than 1.2 million people.

This is what reporters learned from the National Health Commission’s press conference on the 25th.

Wang Jiandong, deputy director of the Occupational Health Department and first-level inspector of the National Health Commission, introduced at the press conference that in response to the problem of rescuing pneumoconiosis patients for whom the responsible party cannot be clarified, in recent years, the country has actively carried out monitoring to prevent people from returning to poverty due to illness, and classified pneumoconiosis patients into Incorporate 30 types of special treatment for serious diseases under surveillance to maintain the continuity and stability of relevant treatment policies. Currently, the treatment rate for the "three types of households" included in the monitoring scope are households that are unstable in poverty alleviation due to pneumoconiosis, households that are on the verge of becoming poor, and households that are experiencing severe difficulties due to pneumoconiosis.
Pneumoconiosis is an occupational disease with the largest number of reports in my country, but there are still many pneumoconiosis patients who are difficult to diagnose as occupational pneumoconiosis. In response to problems such as the difficulty in confirming the patient's labor relationship, according to the provisions of the Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Law and the Occupational Disease Diagnosis and Identification Management Measures, the health administrative department must conduct investigations in accordance with the law and urge employers to provide relevant information.
According to reports, in the next step, the National Health Commission will work with relevant departments to promote local governments to formulate and introduce more rescue and protection policies for pneumoconiosis patients to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of workers' occupational health.
