China: H7N9 Outbreak in Huhehaote of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

On May 31, Veterinary Department of Saihan district in Huhehaote city, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, during their monitoring, found suspicious bird flu symptoms in some chicken-breeding-farms. 59,556 chickens got ill, 33,526 chickens died in this incidence.
On June 04, Inner Mongolian Center for Animal Disease Prevention and Control diagnosed it suspicious avian flu outbreak.
June 08, 2017, after National Avian Influenza Reference Laboratory?s confirmation, this was diagnosed as the outbreak of H7N9 avian flu.
After this, the local authorities in accordance with the requirements on the relevant prevention/control plans and technical requirements, developed law-based prevention/control, scientific prevention/control effectively. They have already culled 371,230 chickens and made them harmless.
At present, the avian flu is effectively controlled.
