On July 6, the Sichuan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention tested the patient’s nasopharyngeal swab and the result was positive for the H5N6 virus. The health department conducts medical observation, sampling and testing of all close contacts and poultry exposed persons in accordance with the requirements of the regulations, and the agricultural and rural departments carry out the killing, harmless treatment and environmental disinfection of the patient’s home and 18 nearby farmers’ poultry, and jointly carry out emergency response.
