Children in three regions to receive yellow fever jabs

The government is coming up with an emergence yellow fever immunization campaign for children in regions bordering Uganda, which has been severely affected with the disease in East Africa.
The new drive is meant to control the new outbreak of the deadly disease in north-western regions of Kagera, Mara and Mwanza.
So far, yellow fever outbreak has claimed 50 lives in Uganda and 400 have been found with the disease?s symptoms.
Among the early symptoms of yellow fever are high fever, headache, bloody nose, nausea and vomiting, rapid pulse (briefly), slow pulse, facial flushing, bloodshot eyes, furry tongue, constipation, irritability, muscle pains, kidney inflammation, reduced urine and proteinurea.
Speaking here yesterday, the minister for Health and Social Services, Dr Hadji Mponda, said the mass vaccination will come later as of now there is a shortage of vaccine doses....more
