Cheatham County Central mourns loss of teacher

Cheatham County Central High School students and staff are mourning the loss of teacher Dan Thornton, who passed away Monday morning at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Thornton developed flu-like symptoms on Saturday and was taken to a hospital in his hometown of Clarksville.

He was then transported to Vanderbilt, where he was placed on life support for what was believed to be a viral infection that caused his organs to start shutting down...more
