Casos aumentam 274%Até agora, foram confirmados 86 casos de H1N1 em 2012. Número é 274% superior a todo o ano de 2011
The number of confirmed cases of gri-pe A (H1N1) in the first four months of 2012 grew up 274% for the whole year of 2011. So far, 86 cases have been confirmed, the highest number ever recorded in Ceará. In 2009, the year of a pandemic of the disease, were 72 cases. The Coordinator of health promotion and protection of the State Secretariat of health (Sesa), Manoel Fonsêca, says that the situation is not alarming. He explains that, last year, when a city was 20 confirmed cases of Influenza A, for example, other cases were treated as H1N1 flu, without the need for confirmation by examination. As some cities showed disease outbreak in 2011, this would explain the increase in rates in 2012. He points out, last year, 859 cases of H1N1 were reported. In 2012, were 252 notifications. Fortress leads the indexes with 59 confirmed cases (61%), followed by Beberibe, with 17 cases (20%), and Fortaleza, with three confirmations (3.5%). Compared to other years, the number of severe cases of the disease has also increased: 15 were confirmed cases of severe acute respiratory syndrome in Ceará, higher number for the years 2010 and 2011 (2) (14). In the last week, has not increased the number of deaths, which continues in three cases.
