Zika, Guadeloupe alert

No cases of Zika is confirmed yet in the department, but suspected cases are being analyzed. For the Regional Health Agency, the watchwords are prevention and protection.
For the moment, no cases of Zika has not been detected in our department, but the archipelago is on alert. The disease, present in over 14 countries in America / Caribbean region, has appeared in French Guiana and Martinique, with respectively 17 and 12 confirmed cases.

The director of the Regional Health Agency (ARS), Patrice Richard, difficult to see how the archipelago and northern islands could escape. Besides, 10 suspected cases are being analyzed: three in Guadeloupe, a Marie-Galante, 3 in Saint-Barth?lemy and Saint-Martin 3. Pending the results of a specialized laboratory of Marseille, the watchword is prevention and protection. It is in this sense that the ARS communicates.
