General comments from the 2007 survey
WHO should continue to underline the importance of
the National Infl uenza Centres in communications with
ministries of health and increase visibility of the centres
and the Global Infl uenza Surveillance Network, as they
deserve.
More global and regional meetings of National Infl uenza
Centres, organized by WHO, would enhance communication
among centres.
The WHO regional offi ces are encouraged to continue
translating documents into local languages to overcome
language barriers.
Hard copies of information should be considered for
distribution of important information because some
National Infl uenza Centres have only limited access to
the Internet.
All National Infl uenza Centres should be encouraged to
share surveillance information with other centres in
their regions as well as globally.
WHO should improve the web pages of the Global
Infl uenza Surveillance Network.
