Larger cans can sometimes be significantly cheaper in price per ounce or pound of food however if my family can not consume the contents before they spoil than the extra "savings" could go to waste. If there is little or no refrigeration available this could be an issue. We stick mainly to smaller sized cans. The smaller cans also give us more flexibility in use as we are not committed to have to use up a lot of left overs. Unfortunately where we are these smaller cans are not standardized and may contain anywhere from approximately 10 to 15 oz.
