It doesn't say if the girl came to camp already infected, or where the girl was sent home to. Seems to me that the rest of the girls will go home just in time for school to start.

Swine Flu Found At Summer Camp
South Hero, Vermont - August 14, 2009

Swine flu has hit another Vermont summer camp.

The state health department confirms that one child at Camp Hochelaga in South Hero has been positively diagnosed with the H1N1 virus. That girl was sent home.

Hochelaga is a YWCA camp for girls -- with about 90 girls currently enrolled. Camp officials have stepped up cleaning and are taking other precautions to stop the spread of the illness.

Health officials said earlier this summer they fully expected to virus to be present at camps.

South Hero camper diagnosed with swine flu
Free Press Staff Report ? August 14, 2009
SOUTH HERO -- A YWCA camp for girls on the shores of Lake Champlain is contending with a bout of swine flu.

One young camper at Camp Hochelaga in South Hero was confirmed as having the H1N1 virus Wednesday and was sent home, camp officials said. Several campers experienced flu-like symptoms, such as high fevers, but the Vermont Department of Health confirmed only the one case. The agency also cleared a girl suspected of having the illness.

The residential and day camp plans to celebrate its 90th anniversary this weekend. About 90 girls are enrolled in the latest two-week session.

Staff notified parents of the swine flu case and stepped up the cleaning of the camp's bathrooms, dining hall and kitchen.

The camp, which has a nurse on staff full time, was taking every precaution, YWCA Executive Director Rebecca Gurney said.
