A recent confirmed case of bacterial meningitis has Tehama County health officials getting the word out on the highly contagious disease.

Sydnei Wilby, director of Tehama County Public Health, said county residents need to learn how to protect their families from this illness.

In 2010 a 10-year-old Red Bluff boy died from the bacterial form of the disease, and several other cases were confirmed...
