Jocelyne Gerstmar
GERSTMAR , Jocelyne Diane July 18, 1947 - November 22, 2009 Jocelyne Diane Gerstmar passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Rockyview General Hospital with her immediate family by her side. She fought and persevered through an undiagnosed auto immune disease for many years but lost the battle due to complications with H1N1.
We are shocked and heartbroken by the loss of our mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Jocelyne was born and raised in Montreal. She loved to travel, shop, cook, eat fine foods, listen to music, have a good glass of red wine, but most of all, she loved caring for her family. She was an extremely dedicated Hockey mom, was always well organized, dependable and was an unbelievably warm woman. Jocelyne will always be remembered for being determined, passionate, intuitive, spirited, and a great listener; she was undoubtedly a unique and unforgettable individual. She is survived by her loving family - husband Larry; daughters Lindsay and Natalie; mother Jacqueline Lafond; sister Nicole; brother Richard; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Jocelyne was predeceased by her father Normand Lafond. We would like to invite family and friends to the celebration of Jocelyne's life which will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Cochrane Funeral Home (369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB) on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com . If people so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Vasculitis Foundation Canada ( www.vasculitis.ca ). We would like to thank and recognize all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Rockyview General Hospital ICU for their outstanding efforts, compassion and care. In living memory of Jocelyne Gerstmar, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Cochrane Funeral Home, 369 RAILWAY STREET, COCHRANE. Telephone: 403-932-4740.
