SF confirms multiple cases of dog flu

If your dog is coughing or sneezing like a Muni rider suffering from the flu, that?s probably because it has the flu.

The San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has confirmed multiple cases of canine influenza in The City.

The SF SPCA said Friday that pet owners should consider getting their dogs vaccinated, especially if their four-legged friends enjoy running around in dog parks.

?We?re recommending a flu vaccine for dogs regularly around large groups of dogs,? the SF SPCA said on Twitter.

This comes as dogs in the South Bay continue to fight off the flu. Veterinarians there recently treated at least 70 dogs for canine influenza.

It?s unclear just how many dogs have the flu in San Francisco...
