SD Inmate Tested Positive for Tuberculosis

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - An inmate incarcerated at a couple of jails in San Diego recently tested positive for tuberculosis and might have infected other prisoners and staff, the county Health and Human Services Agency reported Tuesday.

The unidentified prisoner was housed from May 23 to June 9 in section B1 of the East Mesa Reentry Facility, and from June 9 to June 17 in section 1C of the George Bailey Detention Facility, according to the HHSA.

County health and sheriff's officials say they are contacting those who might have been exposed, including 250 people who are no longer in custody...
