An outbreak of clostridium difficile at Belleville General Hospital involves fewer than five patients but likely won't be declared over for a number of weeks, says a Quinte Health Care spokesperson.

Susan Rowe, director of communications for QHC, said the hospital's infection control team declared the outbreak late Wednesday after it was discovered patients on the fifth floor of the Dundas Street East site were showing symptoms of the bacteria...
