Ziniaré: Three dead due to food poisoning

July 16, 2024 Compaore

The story is chilling. Three people from the same family die of food poisoning in Ziniaré .

According to Yirimedia's source, everything started with the consumption of a dish of tô with baobab sauce on the night of Friday, July 12, 2024 by members of the family.

The discomfort began around 1:30 a.m. according to initial reports . First, it was the woman who began to convulse and her husband alerted his acquaintances by telephone for help.

“ It was when we arrived at the CHR of Ziniaré that one of the sons called me to tell me that his father was not holding up, that he was also convulsing ,” one of the witnesses-rescuers told us. On the morning of Saturday, July 13, two other members of the family began to show the same signs, they will join the couple already interned at the Regional Hospital Center of Ziniaré.

In view of their deteriorating situation, the husband and his wife will be urgently evacuated to the Tengandgo hospital for more appropriate care. They will later be joined again by their children in this health center on the same day of Saturday. Things will unfortunately go very quickly. We will learn of the death of the head of the family early in the morning of Sunday, July 14, 2024, he is buried in the evening of Sunday. The next morning, that is to say this Monday, July 15, 2024, it is the wife who dies in turn. And one of the sons who was also interned at the Tengandgo hospital, unfortunately succumbed, yet the latter was the one who was visibly doing well.

At the time of writing, one of the family members is still receiving treatment at Tengandgo hospital. According to our sources, the scientific police have taken samples of the food consumed to conduct investigations.

The late head of the family was a school life officer in a public establishment in the city.

And it was only on March 10, 2024 that he was admitted to retirement.

Investigations will be able to tell us the exact cause of this family tragedy in the coming days.
