Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture Proposes Construction of Regional Information Network for Bird Flu

Dobrich. Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture Nihat Kabil is to propose to his counterparts from Romania, Ukraine, Moldova and Turkey that a national network for exchange of information and a system for monitoring of birds are created in an attempt to fight bird flu. The proposal will be made during a forthcoming meeting in Brussels, the Minister said.
The delta of the Danube River is located on the territory of the countries mentioned in the proposal and this is why the region is critical for the spreading of the bird flu virus. Kabil is to propose the creation of checkpoints for monitoring of the birds, equipped with optical devises and connected to a computer network.
