The measles virus
Brent is in the grip of a measles epidemic with numbers of infected residents rocketing over the past 18 months.
So far this year there have been 84 reported cases of the killer virus - in comparison with eight in 2007 and 15 in 2006.
Health experts are now urging parents to make sure their children have the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine (MMR), before the summer holidays, to make ensure they are protected.
Roger Gross, London Regional Director of the Health Protection Agency, said: "Making sure your children have had two doses of the MMR vaccine should be a priority.
"Measles is highly infectious so can spread easily amongst unvaccinated children. If your child does become ill, it can be very serious and cause severe complications."
