Brazil has 20 confirmed cases of swine flu, says Health Ministry

Up to 20 the number of confirmed cases of swine flu - influenza A (H1N1) - in Brazil, according to the Ministry of Health in the late afternoon of Saturday. The national monitoring 19 suspected cases of the disease in ten states.
The two confirmed cases today are in Santa Catarina, one in Sao Paulo and another in Tocantins.
Those infected with the disease are distributed in S?o Paulo (8), Rio de Janeiro (5), Santa Catarina (4), Minas Gerais (1), Rio Grande do Sul (1) and Tocantins (1). In all cases, are carried out search and tracking of all persons who had close contact with these patients.
According to the Ministry of Health, the new confirmed cases of S?o Paulo and Tocantins have been contaminated in the United States. But the two patients were contaminated from Santa Catarina in Brazil. They contracted the disease from a patient who came to the United States.
So far, six are the cases of indigenous transmission (within the national territory), all with ties to patients from outside. According to the ministry, the transmission in Brazil is limited and there is evidence of sustainability of person to person transmission of H1N1 virus.
The suspected cases are in the states of S?o Paulo (5), Rio de Janeiro (3), Rio Grande do Norte (3), Distrito Federal (2), Minas Gerais (1), Maryland (1), Alagoas (1) Bahia (1), Goi?s (1) and Roraima (1).
Other 17 cases are under monitoring in 9 states. The number of cases disposed so far is 346, according to the ministry.
In this Saturday, 57 countries have confirmed cases and disseminated disease, according to information from governments and the WHO (World Health Organization).
