Deaths from the H1N1 influenza virus

The Government of Amazonas and the Municipality of Manaus issued a warning on Saturday, the 23rd, with influenza A (H1N1) and respiratory syncytial virus syndrome that caused four people to die this year.

The municipal and state health systems, through secretariats (Susam and Semsa), intensified guidance to the servers on the clinical management of patients with suspected disease.

This year 104 cases of respiratory disease have been registered, of which 27 were positive for influenza and 18 for the virus, which affected children up to 2 years. The numbers are from the Epidemiological Bulletin of Flu Syndrome, from the Health Surveillance Foundation (FVS).

The four deaths were recorded in Manaus (2), Manacapuru and Parintins this week, all for H1N1 influenza, and there are other cases under investigation to determine the cause.

FVS confirms 9 deaths due to H1N1 in AM


Manaus - The director-president of the Amazonas Health Surveillance Foundation (FVS-AM), epidemiologist Rosemary Costa Pinto, said that 27 cases of Influenza A (H1N1) were registered this year throughout the state. Of these, 23 are concentrated in the Amazonian capital. To date, 10 deaths have been recorded as a result of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), with nine confirmed H1N1 deaths. According to the epidemiologist, the scenario may already be considered an outbreak of the virus in the Amazon.

Foundation confirms 39 cases of Influenza A (H1N1) and 12 deaths in the Amazon

Issue 02/2019 of the Epidemiological Bulletin of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in the State of Amazonas, of the State of Amazonas Surveillance Foundation (FVS-AM) informs that 195 cases of SARS have been reported in the State. Of these, 39 (54%) were positive for Influenza A (H1N1) Virus, 25 (34%) for Respiratory Syncytial Virus (SRV), 47 (22%) were discarded and the remainder were investigated. There are positive H1N1 cases in all age groups. Regarding Respiratory Syncytial Virus, the highest incidence is in children under one year. According to the second bulletin, 12 deaths were recorded for H1N1. Of these, 08 in Manaus, 02 in Manacapuru, 01 in Parintins, 01 Itacoatiara. Other 02 deaths were confirmed by Respiratory Syncytial Virus, both residents of the capital. Of the 14 deaths recorded by SRAG, 78% had a risk factor, especially those with diabetes, pneumopathies, people with obesity, and neuropaths.

H1N1: Amazonas already has 16 deaths and more than 60 cases of Influenza

The Amazon has already recorded 16 deaths, 62 confirmed cases of Influenza A (H1N1) and 33 cases of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (SRV). The numbers are from the Health Surveillance Foundation (FVS) and are included in Epidemiological Bulletin No. 04 of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), released on Monday (4). The FVS-AM also reports 276 cases of influenza-like illness in the state. The bulletin confirms 16 deaths for H1N1 - 12 in Manaus, two in Manacapuru, one in Parintins and one in Itacoatiara. It confirms, also, another 4 deaths by Respiratory Syncytial Virus in Manaus and one in Borba, total of 20 deaths, being between H1N1 and SRV. After declaring a state of emergency due to influenza, the State Government requested the Ministry of Health to anticipate the vaccination campaign for this month.

Amazonas has 91 cases and 24 deaths from H1N1

The issue n? 07 of the Epidemiological Bulletin of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in the state of Amazonas, on Monday (11), reports that 91 cases and 24 deaths were confirmed by H1N1, in addition to 55 patients diagnosed with Respiratory Syncytial Virus (SRV). In total, 475 cases of severe flu syndrome are under investigation in the state.

Of the 24 deaths from H1N1, 20 were in Manaus, two in Manacapuru, one in Parintins and one in Itacoatiara. Five other deaths were confirmed by Respiratory Syncytial Virus, four from Manaus and one from Borba. A death was also confirmed in Manaus by Parainfluenza type 3.

Amazonas reaches 28 deaths and 110 confirmed cases of H1N1, says FVS

The number of positive cases for Influenza A (H1N1) virus and 28 deaths recorded in Amazonas rose to 110. The numbers were updated in the latest edition of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Epidemiological Bulletin (SARS), updated on Wednesday (20), by the Foundation of Health Surveillance of Amazonas (FVS). Of the 28 deaths already caused by the disease outbreak in the state, 22 were registered in Manaus, two in Manacapuru, one in Parintins, one in Itacoatiara, one in Japur? and one in Nhamund?. According to the bulletin, there are ten deaths due to Respiratory Syncytial Virus, nine in the capital and one in Borba, in addition to a death in Manaus by Parainfluenza type 3.
